I'm so excited I can't stand it! After months of talking about it and planning it and scouring the web for ideas - we finally have an official playroom for Sophie! And an official place for all of her Christmas toys!
We woke up Saturday morning with a mission. To get up to Ikea before the crazy crowds and get home! And we did! We were in and out pretty fast - since we knew exactly what we wanted. I love Ikea. For a playroom on a budget - it's perfect!
Her dad began to work right away putting together the shelves and hanging the wire/rods above them. After a nice long nap, Sophie woke up to a whole new room in the basement. No longer was mom and dad's office in this spot - but all of her toys!
The playroom is not complete - as I still need a few accessories, etc. - but it's at a great point and the main pieces are in place!
Here is my inspiration:
We plan to get Sophie an easel for her birthday - as she is still a bit young for one - and get a roll of paper that attaches to the wall for her art projects - fun! Also, on the hunt for the perfect oil cloth for her table - as I don't want it to get too marked up!
And here is Sophie's playroom:
Expedit bookshelves from Ikea, Target Itso bins in Brown, Bygel rod and buckets from Ikea that hold art supplies, Dignitet curtain wire/clips from Ikea to display artwork. We plan to fill the shelves with books and place some of her "big kid" books on the top of the bookcases (as she cannot reach) with some great bookends I have my eye on!
