Sophie was in heaven. She not only got to ride in her wagon - which she adores - but she also got to get her hands around some big ol' pumpkins - a new word she is trying to master.
Granted - many of the pumpkins were a bit too large for Miss Sophie to pick up - but she found a few that were just her size!
Check out her Halloween attire - she is totally ready to celebrate this holiday that is happening in 21 days. She is very excited (aka her mom is very excited for her). Too bad we didn't have shoes that actually match orange & black. Pink doesn't go so well with those 2 colors!
I just had to post the above picture because she has the biggest pout - she was not into having her photo taken with mom and dad!
After a great lunch at The Little Owl in Geneva, IL, we headed home...and after the "nap" she never actually took and a dinner she thoroughly enjoyed (mac & cheese), she discovered we had brought all of the pumpkins inside. Now - why are the pumpkins inside vs. outside you may ask....well, we have squirrels. Squirrels? Well, doesn't everyone have squirrels? Sure, but do your squirrels go ninja and attack your pumpkins? Because this is the first place that either Blake or I have lived that they do!
Squirrels are a pumpkins worst enemy on Webster Avenue. And if brought outside too early, there will not be any pumpkin left come October 31st. Which would be really annoying. Those crazy squirrels like to get their little claws on those yummy seeds in the center of said pumpkin. And once that hole has been created and those seeds have been devoured, the pumpkin will be chucked off the porch and just be brutalized by the squirrels. So for now, the pumpkins will be kept safe and sound inside from those crazy beady eyed squirrels that are hanging around the house.
So back to Sophie discovering the pumpkins. This kid has a thing with order and specific placement of toys and I guess the pumpkins were not in the right room of the house because she had to move every pumpkin to her bedroom. She began with the little ones - the ones she could handle herself - and when those were in their now correct location of her bedroom, she asked Dad for help moving the big ones.
