A Few of Her Favorite Things

It's hard to believe Sophie is now 13 months old and turning into quite the character each and every day. Sometimes we wish we could just freeze time and keep her little for she is growing up too fast, but then we wouldn't know the little lady that our Sophie girl has become.

Sophie loves to.....read. This may be her most favorite thing to do. I tend to think she is taking after my reading habits due to her love of literature. She loves to pull off every single book from her shelf, sit amongst them and read. It is about the cutest thing. Reminds me of when Teddy and I were little and at Gaga's with our toy closet in the basement where we would pull out every book onto the floor as well. Along with about every toy and game down there too!

Sophie loves to......play chase. Especially when she finds the tv clicker. She knows she is not supposed to have it. The way her eyes light up as she hones in on it laying around is hilarious. She swoops in, steals it and the chase begins! She is a pro at walking by now and beginning to "run" which helps in the chase pursuit.

Sophie loves to.....hang with her dog Max. Max is her buddy. Her protector and her constant companion. Sure, she definitely bugs and antagonizes him throughout the day, but he loves his little pal. She also adores the water. Bath time, the hose, the pool, etc. If there is water, Sophie will dive right into the fun. Perhaps those winter "swim lessons" contributed to that?

Sophie loves to.....eat!!! Give her some food and she is your best friend. She actually gets excited when she knows she will be getting a tasty treat. We have only found 2 items that Sophie is not a fan of: broccoli and refried beans. She eats what we eat. Steak, chicken, pork, turkey, cheese, blueberries, bananas, cereal, waffles, pancakes, peaches, crackers, raspberries, tomatoes, potatoes (sweet and white), cucumbers, peas, green beans, carrots, squash, soup, bread, sandwiches, etc. You name, she has probably tried and likes it. Couldn't ask for a better eater. With as much as she can consume, it is amazing she is only 20 lbs 12 oz. Let's just hope she continues to enjoy a variety of food at mealtimes!

Sophie loves to.....be naughty. Yes, She does. That sweet innocent baby knows what not to do and does it anyway. And why, because it is fun. Because she is testing her limits with her parents. Because she has the best time doing it and no matter how many times she hears the word "no" - to her that means "yes - you go have fun picking stuff out of the trash can. you climb up on that stroller and take the chance of falling off. you just go ahead and do it!"

Sophie is constantly on the go. I am not sure that she has ever sat still for longer than 2 minutes. We love that little nugget and couldn't have more fun in the process of tackling parenthood. It is definitely an adventure each and every day.
