Dancing Queen

Over the last couple of weeks, Sophie has discovered that she can dance. She's done the rocking back and forth thing on the ground, but now she's gone vertical and is dancing on her feet.

I first noticed it during her bath time.  She would start squatting up and down to her own little beat.  Well, she has since begun dancing out of the tub and it is the funniest thing ever to watch.  She loves to dance.  Put some music on and the baby squats begin.

Sophie was in all her dancing glory this past weekend.  Or maybe she was just putting on a show for her visiting Grandparents and Uncles.  My mom, Murphy, Jack and Colin had a chance to witness her in full dance mode.  They had a great time together, especially when Blake and I left Saturday night to see the Counting Crows concert at Ravinia.

Another new little "trick" of Sophie's is that she understands that hats and headbands go on your head, socks and shoes on your feet, you have to put your foot into your pants/short leg and you have to put your hand through your shirts arm hole.  Today, she helped me put her socks and shoes on and got such a kick out of it that she "did it."  She's getting smarter each and every day and fully understands when to use her "yes" and "no" head movements and "all done" and "more" sign language.  Also, starting to say "thank you." We love this little nugget.
